Jeremiah has been teaching yoga since 1998. His classes are focused and dynamically uplifting with attention to breath and body awareness.
He enjoys adapting evolutions of vinyassa from a broad vocabulary of movement.
Jeremiah believes laughter allows the body to open into greater flexibility of movement. He encourages students to unlock transformational potential and breathe their own inspired art of yoga.
Yoga, meditation and world philosophies were a part of Jeremiah's upbringing. Raised a vegetarian, his mother taught yoga and his father was an initiate of the Vajrayana Buddhist tradition. Meeting H.H. the Dali Lama, at age 15, inspired a grounded interest in global awareness, social activism, and the subtle arts of Yoga Tantra.
In 1987 he began regular Hatha Yoga practice at Integral Yoga School, NYC, and serious study of Tai Chi, Chi Gong and Taoist meditation under Master C.K. Chu.
Jeremiah received initiation into Kalachraka with the Dali Lama, and Dream Yoga with Namkai Norbu. He found new inspiration at the Jivamukti Yoga Center, under founders Shanon Gannon and David Life.
In 1998, he was certified at The Sivananda Ashram of Neyer Dam. He has traveled extensively throughout India and Nepal learning from many teachers.
At the encouragement of T.K.V. Desikachar he studied adaptation and Yoga Therapy with Mark Whitwell and Yoga Anatomy w/ Leslie Kaminoff. Certificated by Heart of Yoga Association, he assists Mark at teacher training seminars in N.Y. and Germany.
Jeremiah is a certified Jivamukti yoga teacher and guides regular classes and workshops at the Jivamukti Yoga Center, NYC; he also teaches at various locations in the USA and Europe.
Inspired by the wisdom, culture, and beauty of India, he delights in inviting others to share the journey.
